Thank you for taking out your time to visit my humble website. Ayusalleh.com evolves as a continuity of my blog, acupofblues.blogspot.com.
My name is Ayu Salleh, a native of Malaysia and presently residing and working in Kuala Lumpur.
I have had the passion towards writing poems since my youth. It motivated me to create this blog and share my passion with others who are interested. One day, I read a book of poetry called Dalam Pelarian Satu by Zaihasra, which was owned by my mother. This book created a tremendous impact in my life and it created the interest within my mind to start writing poems. I hope my writing can be a source of inspiration to someone the way the book inspired me to become who I am today.
I find serenity and fulfillment in my adventures in travel and photography other than poetry. My life revolves around it. I might not consider myself as a professional as I do not own a fancy camera to my credit, but I derive pleasure in capturing every glimpse of every memorable moment. To make it more interesting, I mix some of my photos with poetry. I share all these creative combination in my photo-poetry.
I remember one paragraph that I read in Eat, Pray & Love - a bestseller book about self-searching which describes how I feel towards traveling:
“Traveling is the great true love of my life. I am loyal and constant in my love of travel. I feel about travel the way a happy mother feels about her adorable, precious, restless new-born baby. I just don’t care what it puts me through. Because I adore it. Because it’s mine. Because it looks exactly like me”.
Traveling has a special place in my heart. I have created a new page in this website for me to share my travel stories. These are either local day trips just a few miles from my home, exploring a new neighborhood in my city or widening my horizon on life in foreign countries. I love and appreciate each moment of going on a trip. I derive inspiration and fulfillment in going for an adventure. Traveling makes me so exhilarated as I always look forward to having a new experience, it pumps up my adrenaline.
I hope I can remain true to myself always in my journey of life through poetry, photography and traveling.
